QuicKcals

The calorie diary that stops being work.

Photograph the plate. QuicKcals works out what's on it, logs the calories and the macros, and gets on with learning what you actually burn — not what a formula guessed on day one.

No card needed. Barcode scanning, food search and your whole history are free forever.

Step one

Point the camera

Or scan a barcode. Or type "two poached eggs on sourdough". Or say it out loud. Whichever is fastest at the time — they all end up in the same place.

Step two

It does the maths

Calories and macros, broken down per item, with the portion it assumed shown — so when it's wrong you fix that one thing, not the whole entry.

Step three

Watch the trend, not the day

One heavy Saturday means nothing. QuicKcals shows the line through the noise, and adjusts your target as it learns what your body actually does.

Everything a food diary should have done years ago

Most of this is free. The things that cost money to run are the things you pay for — and we say which is which rather than hiding it behind a trial.

Log by photo

A plate of food is faster to photograph than to describe. The estimate comes back itemised, so you can fix the one thing it got wrong instead of redoing all of it.

Plus and Pro

Barcodes and real food databases

Millions of packaged products, looked up rather than guessed. When a figure comes off a label it's marked as verified, and when it's an estimate it says so.

Free, unlimited

Adaptive targets

Standard calculators guess your maintenance calories from your height and weight and never revisit it. QuicKcals watches what you eat against what you actually weigh and corrects itself.

Free

Trend weight, not scale weight

Daily weight is mostly water. The trend line is the thing that tells you whether the last fortnight worked, with a projection to your goal based on your real rate.

Free

Connect your WHOOP

Turn "burned" from a formula's guess into a measurement. Your daily burn, recovery and sleep, sitting next to what you ate, so you can see which foods actually cost you a night. Wearing something else? Import your weight history from Apple Health or any smart scale, free on every plan.

Pro

Scan a recipe or a label

Photograph a recipe card or the back of a packet and get the whole ingredient list broken down, saved, and portionable.

Pro

Saved meals and recipes

Your porridge is your porridge. Log it once, re-log it in a tap forever. Build recipes with portions and add a slice without doing sums.

Free, unlimited

Works with no signal

A proper offline app, not a website that breaks in a lift. Log on the tube, and it syncs when you surface. Install it to your home screen and it behaves like an app because it is one.

Free

Macros, keto and fasting

Protein, carbs and fat tracked against your own split. A keto mode that counts net carbs, and a fasting timer that knows when you last ate because it's the same diary.

Free

The weekly report

A PDF that lands every week — what you ate, what moved, what didn't — filed straight to your Google Drive if you want it there.

Pro

Your data is yours

Export the lot, any time, as a file you keep. Delete the account and the diary goes with it. Nothing you log is ever sold or used to target an advert.

Free

Invite a friend, both gain

They get their first month free. You get a month of your own plan back, the moment their first real payment lands.

Every price includes VAT — the number here is the number charged. Cancel in two taps, from inside the app. Ask within 14 days and you get every penny back.

Questions people actually ask

Is the free plan a trial?

No. It doesn't expire and it doesn't ask for a card. Barcode scanning, food search, saved meals, your charts and your whole history stay free permanently. What's rationed is the AI — three estimates a day — because that's the part that costs real money to run. It's funded by ads, which is why paid plans don't have them.

How accurate are the photo estimates?

Good enough to be useful, not good enough to be gospel — and the app says which is which. Anything looked up from a barcode or a food database is marked verified. Anything the AI estimated is marked as an estimate, itemised, with the portion it assumed shown so you can correct it in a tap. Over a week, consistent slightly-wrong beats accurate-but-abandoned every time.

What happens if I run out of AI estimates?

Everything else keeps working — search, barcodes, saved meals, re-logging anything already in your diary, all your charts. Only new AI estimates pause, and they reset the next day.

Can I cancel? Do I get a refund?

Cancel any time from Settings, in two taps — it goes through Stripe's own portal, not a form that emails somebody. Your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. Ask within 14 days of subscribing and you get a full refund whether you've used it or not.

Do I need a WHOOP?

No. Without one, QuicKcals estimates what you burn from your stats and then corrects that estimate as it watches your actual weight change — which for most people lands close. Connecting a WHOOP replaces that estimate with a measurement, which is sharper, and it's why that sits on Pro.

Apple Health and Android's Health Connect are a different thing: neither can be read by a website, so there's no live connection to offer. What QuicKcals does instead is accept the export file those apps already produce and read your weight history out of it — free, on every plan.

Is my diary private?

Yes. It isn't sold, and it's never given to an advertiser — nothing you log is used to target ads, here or anywhere else. Free accounts see ads, but the only thing the ad script learns is that a page was opened. On a paid plan the advertising script is never loaded at all. The privacy policy spells out exactly what goes where.

Is it an app or a website?

Both, really. It runs in a browser, and you can install it to your home screen, where it opens full-screen, works with no signal, and can send you reminders — like an app, without an app store between you and an update.

Is this medical advice?

No, and it shouldn't be treated as it. It's a diary that estimates. If you're managing a medical condition, pregnant, under 18, or have a history of disordered eating, talk to a doctor or a registered dietitian before changing how you eat.

What we build next is up to you

All of this is real work we know how to do — the question is the order. Tap the ones you'd actually use and we'll weight the queue accordingly. No dates, because a date on a roadmap is a promise nobody should make.
